The official name of Malawi is the Republic of Malawi. The formal name of Malawi was Nyasaland. The Republic of Malawi is situated in south east side of Africa. The Republic of Malawi is bordered by Zambia to the North West
, bordered by Tanzania to the north east side, and bordered by Mozambique on the east, west and south side. The Lake Malawi separates the Tanzania and Mozambique from the Republic of Malawi. The total size of Republic of Malawi is about 118,000 square kilometer. The capital of Malawi is Lilongwe. The largest city of Malawi is Blantyre and the second largest city is Mzuzu. The Word Malawi is derived from the Maravi which is an accient name of Nyanja people which are lived in this area. The Republic of Malawi has also the nick name which is The Warm Heart of Africa. The Constitution which is now practicing in Malawi is made on 18th May 1995. The government has also the various branches which are consists of judicial, legislative and executive. The President is Chief of State and the head of government. The President and vice President are elected for the five years. The President has right to appoint the vice President. President also appoints the cabinet of members.


The Malawi has three regions which are the Northern, Central and Southern region. The regions are then sub divided in to the 28 districts. Central government is administrating the Local government. Malawi military is consists of navy, army and air wing. The military has 80 aircraft but they have no combat aircraft. Malawi has 28 districts with the three regions. The central region of Malawi is consists of Dedze, Dowa, Kasungu
, Liongwe, Nkhotakota, Ntcheu, Ntchisi and Salima. The northern region of Malawi is consists of Chitipa, Karonga, Likoma, Mzimba, Nkhata Bay and Rumphi. The southern region of Malawi is consists of Balaka, Blantyre
, Chikwawa, Chiradzulu, Machinga, Mangochi, Mulanje, Mwanza, Nsanje, Tyolo, Phalombe
, Zomba and Neno. The Malawi has good relationships with many Western countries. Pro Western Policy was recognized by the previous President Banda.


Many of the students of Malawi travel to the United States for high education. United States has many vigorous branches of the Center for Disease control and prevention, Peace Corps, the Department of Health and Human Services, Agency for International development in Malawi. Many of the refuges from African countries come to Malawi. The Mozambique and Rwanda refuges are coming since 1985. The main donors to Malawi are United States, Germany, Canada, Iceland, Japan, Sweden
, Norway, Ireland, United Kingdom, and Norway. The international organizations are also donors to Malawi are World Bank, the European Union, the International Monetary Fund, the United Nations Organization and the African Development Bank. The weather of Malawi is hot in the south side and the moderate in the north sides of highlands. The warm weather is during the November and April. In March lots of thunderstorm comes. The major agricultural items are tobacco, sugarcane, potatoes
